8. LAST UPDATE

This Privacy Notice is updated as of 26/05/2023

Cookies are small text files stored locally in the temporary memory of your browser, and therefore on your computer, for varying periods of time based on need, typically ranging from a few hours to several years, with the exception of profiling cookies, whose maximum duration is 365 calendar days.

Through cookies, it is possible to semi-permanently store information related to your preferences and other technical data, allowing for smoother navigation, greater ease of use, and more effective functionality of the site itself. For example, cookies can be used to determine whether a connection between your computer and our sites has already been established, highlight new content, or retain “login” information. For your security, you are identified only through the cookie stored on your computer.

To make your visit to our website as convenient as possible, we use cookies or equivalent computer codes. We also use usability analysis tools that track user actions and allow us to understand how our sites are used, improving their functionality and design.

A. TYPES OF COOKIES

Cookies are divided into two main categories:

  • Those installed by the owner or the site administrator, known as first-party cookies;
  • Those installed by external parties, known as third-party cookies.

The responsibility and management of first-party cookies are directly assumed by the owner.

The responsibility and management of third-party cookies are instead borne by the respective owners and operators, who must provide adequate refusal mechanisms in their privacy policies.

A site may contain cookies from six different types:

1. Technical, session, and analytical cookies These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the site and allow for managing login operations, storing configuration preferences where available, or integrating plugins necessary for displaying specific content.

Technical cookies also include those used for statistical and performance analysis, as long as they are configured to collect data in an aggregated and anonymous form, providing an overview of the performance of the sites and their content.

2. Traffic and performance analysis cookies These cookies allow us to know how visitors use a site, what content they access, and the geographical regions they come from, in order to evaluate and improve the functioning of the site and prioritize content that best meets users’ informational needs. These cookies are subject to user consent, which can be expressed directly to the respective operators.

3. Profiling cookies for marketing and advertising purposes These cookies are used to deliver advertisements within a site or an application.

4. Widgets and other tools for interconnection with external sites and functionalities These are cookies, often associated with a graphical element of the site such as an action button or a specific logo (for example, Facebook’s “like” button), used to integrate the functionalities of other sites within the site being browsed. These cookies are the responsibility of the respective operators, and it is possible to oppose their use directly on the pages of the respective operator’s privacy policy.

5. Tracking pixels or web beacons These are application code (scripts) and/or images that do not interfere with the site’s aesthetics but allow a third party to track traffic. For example, advertisers use them to independently measure the performance of an advertising campaign and collect information that is otherwise not available. These cookies are also subject to user consent, and refusal can be done within the privacy policies of the respective operators.

6. Usability tools These are functions written in application code that allow the site manager to analyze how users interact with the content and functionalities to assess ease of use, design quality, and plan improvements. These scripts are configured not to capture elements typed by the user that would compromise their privacy and are subject to explicit consent. Refusal of consent, when present on the pages of this site, is managed directly by the owner.
