Bergamo 3D Rhinoplasty is a software application that allows surgeons to design a rhinoplasty procedure by working on a 3D model. It is the first product of its kind that allows the model and all applicable surgical procedures to be viewed in 3D.
This approach promotes communication between surgeons, facilitates learning, and makes communication with the patient immediate. Each individual procedure is saved in an archive, facilitating access to cases handled in the past.
This is a highly “technical” application developed in close collaboration with Dr. Enrico Robotti’s team and with the invaluable and passionate contribution of Dr. Denis Codazzi.
The application was created with the support of the Bergamo Rhinoplasty Course and the Sanvenero Rosselli Foundation, thanks to the personal involvement of Dr. Mazzola.
In the years leading up to the creation of Bergamo 3D Rhinoplasty, surgeries were represented either by hand or with 2D software.

Create a faithful 3D model
The main challenge of this software was to create a 3D model that accurately represents human anatomy and simulate all possible alterations that could occur in the operating room, especially considering the movements applied to bones and cartilage, while preventing the common and frequent interpenetrations between solids.
This task, which took about 12 person-months to complete, involved close, almost daily, collaboration between the 3D designer and the rhinoplasty specialist.
At the end of this massive and complex process, there were approximately 700 three-dimensional drawings capable of being activated through 230 software options for a total of 200 surgical procedures.
