Gildonferenza

The term “gildonferenza” is a blend of the words Guilds and conference. It is an event designed to highlight the work carried out within the Guilds: a mini-conference dedicated to sharing results, insights, and experiences gathered during the last quarter.
In the following paragraphs, you will find a summary of the presentations from the Guilds active in the first quarter of 2025. Thanks to Stefano Maffeis for moderating this important moment of the Intré Camp.

IoT Cloud

The Guild was created to explore, in a practical and collaborative way, the most common technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain. The Guild has four main objectives:

  1. Cloud and infrastructure: leveraging major cloud services to build scalable and secure IoT solutions.
  2. IoT platform: developing a modular system to collect and analyze data from various devices.
  3. Automation with Terraform: automating resource provisioning through Infrastructure as Code.
  4. AI and data analysis: applying artificial intelligence models for real-time analysis.

Scrum Quest 3

This Guild marks the third evolution of “Scrum Quest”, the agile-themed board game created by the “i3 Board Game” Guild in 2023 and already presented at #play14 in 2024. Throughout the meetings, the team focused on three main objectives:

  • simplifying game mechanics,
  • making the product more suitable for training contexts,
  • highlighting iterative and incremental development.

The work culminated with the presentation of the new version of “Scrum Quest” during #play14 2025, held from June 5 to 7 in Figino Serenza (CO).

Reality or Deepfake?

The Guild explored the world of deepfakes and AI-generated multimedia content, delving into theory, tools, and potential applications. The journey covered six main areas:

  1. Theoretical foundations of deepfakes.
  2. Analysis of the latest tools.
  3. Ultrarealistic deepfakes, with three distinct scenarios:
    1. Italian-to-Italian dubbing with lip-sync and professional voice.
    2. Video manipulation featuring famous personalities.
    3. Realistic avatar equipped with voiceover, knowledge base, and web interface.
  4. Ethical implications.
  5. Use in penetration testing and phishing.
  6. AI Influencer.

During the unconference at Intré Camp on June 13, the Guild presented the three ultrarealistic deepfake scenarios in a dedicated session.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) App

The Guild focuses on accessibility, specifically Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and autism. The team, in collaboration with a pedagogist and a mother, designed and tested solutions based on user needs. Among the outcomes is a physical kit that includes:

  • a portable printer for AAC symbols (PratiCAA Printer),
  • a communication notebook,
  • a weekly calendar,
  • usage instructions.

Additionally, a digital diary was developed to support professionals in managing and sharing information with schools and families. Finally, a mobile app was created to test prints with PratiCAA. During the Intré Camp on June 13, the Guild held an in-depth session on AAC and autism.

DevOps Heroes

The Guild was established to deepen knowledge of the DevOps world, focusing on:

  • methodologies and CI/CD pipelines based on GitLab,
  • process automation,
  • code quality and security.

Key outcomes include the creation of ready-to-use CI templates for Java, .NET, and Angular, as well as a Docker Compose setup to run GitLab locally. A detailed technical article will soon be published on our company blog.

Low-code vs No-code vs AI

The Guild explored the potential of low-code and no-code solutions in digital product development, also analyzing the role of AI and AI Agents. After an initial analysis phase, the team designed and developed two applications:

  • Lucky Wheel (no-code): a web app that randomly selects a name from a list.
  • Pizza Finder (low-code): a web app that analyzes an image of a menu and identifies pizzas based on selected ingredients.

Both solutions were developed with the support of AI Agents such as GitLab Copilot.

Axon & Derivatives

The Guild focused on studying Axon Framework, AxonIQ’s solution for developing event-driven microservices applications based on CQRS and Event Sourcing. Through courses at the AxonIQ Academy, the team deepened their knowledge of the tool and collaborated with the IoT Guild to integrate it into the “i3Device” app, developing both the frontend and backend.

i3Skillz 2

After an initial Proof of Concept on microservices for time tracking, the Guild advanced the project to an advanced stage. Development and production environments were released, the backend improved, and the frontend developed. The next goal is to complete testing, deploy the new application, and evaluate its integration with the internal system.

Unconference

Luca Cruciani explained how an Unconference works, then outlined the available time slots and spaces for attendees to propose and attend sessions. Thanks to Fabio and Marta Ghislandi, who, as always, prepared the board and the cards with the session details.
After Luca’s explanation, the marketplace began—the moment when the unconference program is actually created: each participant, equipped with a post-it, presents their session and places it in one of the time slots on the agenda.
At the end of the session proposals, a few minutes were dedicated to confirming the current schedule or making adjustments, following a single rule: only those requesting a change, together with the owner of the involved post-it, can decide on modifications.

At this Intré Camp on June 13, 2025, the Unconference once again featured a variety of engaging proposals, thanks also to contributions from external guests: from technical topics like GitHub Copilot and IoT, to broader themes such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), to mini-workshops on communication and collaboration. There were also sessions on artificial intelligence presented by the business unit Memoria and cybersecurity sessions led by Betrusted.

Below we highlight a few examples.

Munari’s Machines (Without the Machines)

Emanuele Moscato, one of our guests at this Intré Camp, led a mini-workshop on the theme of Munari’s machines.
Briefly, Munari’s machines (here is the link to the book) are a series of conceptual works created by Bruno Munari (Italian artist, designer, and educator) starting in the 1930s. These are imaginary or real devices without a practical purpose, which Munari used to challenge the idea that every machine must serve a function, thereby opening a space for creative freedom.
In educational and workshop settings, these machines are an effective tool to engage both children and adults on topics such as:

  • creativity applied to design,
  • the sense of paradox,
  • the dialogue between art, design, and play.

Participants, divided into two groups of 5–6 members, tested their creativity and communication skills by organizing themselves to solve a puzzle. Each team had an identical puzzle (many pieces all of the same color). The goal? Write instructions to solve the puzzle, then in the next round swap places with the other team to follow the instructions and improve them.
A key takeaway? Organizing an activity is far from simple when even those explaining it are unsure how and what they want to achieve.

Reality or Deepfake

In this session organized by the “Reality or Deepfake” Guild, Andrea Caglio, Fabio Nava and Matteo Balestrini presented an in-depth overview of their work on ultrarealistic deepfakes, covering each of the three scenarios they considered during their project:

  1. Italian-to-Italian dubbing → lip sync (voice synchronized with lip movement) → professional voice.
  2. Dubbing of famous people → partial video modification.
  3. Realistic avatar → professional voice → real-time avatar → knowledge base → Zoom call → web app.

Some of the tools used to create deepfakes include: HeyGen (AI video generator), ElevenLabs (Text-to-Speech & AI voice generator), sync.so (lip sync), Vozo AI (creation, dubbing, lip sync, and video localization), and Google Veo 3, the latest Google model for producing even professional-quality videos.

The “Goose Retro”

Piergiorgio Lovato, another of our guests, proposed “The Goose Retro.” As the session’s name suggests, Piergiorgio shared a retrospective inspired by the famous Game of the Goose. The session was composed of two phases:

  1. The first phase consisted of a team game, designed as an introduction and warm-up for the next step.
  2. The second phase was the actual “Goose Retro.”

Piergiorgio designed a board where each square indicated an action to perform when a player’s token landed on it, such as giving feedback or suggesting an improvement. Depending on the square’s instruction, the player carried out the assigned activity. The “Goose Retro,” inspired by serious gaming principles, makes the retrospective more dynamic and engaging, encouraging collaboration and discussion in a playful and informal atmosphere.

AAC, Autism, and Neurodiversity

Veronica D’Angelo, Miriam Civiero and Cristina Azzarito introduced the topic by explaining the basics and sharing some data on autism and neurodiversity. They then explored the specific needs of children and young people with speech difficulties and presented the communication tools commonly used. During the Guild, they had the opportunity to engage with and interview a pedagogist and a mother, gathering valuable testimonies and experiences to design and test the products developed throughout the process, including:

  • a portable printer for AAC symbols (PratiCAA Printer),
  • a communication notebook,
  • a weekly calendar,
  • usage instructions.

In addition to this kit, initial versions of two digital tools were created:

  • a digital diary, a tool to help professionals keep track of all the young people’s information, share progress and support materials with schools and families;
  • a mobile application to test prints with PratiCAA.

Retro Dixit

During the final session of the day, Andrea Giovane led a retrospective on the Intré Camp using Dixit cards. The cards in this board game feature evocative illustrations. A Dixit retrospective works like this: each participant holds a deck of Dixit cards and, in turn, draws a card from the deck or chooses one from their hand to represent how they felt about an aspect of the Camp. Each person then shows their chosen card to the group and briefly explains their choice, linking the image to their experience, emotions, or significant moments from the day.
After everyone has shared, a group discussion opens to further explore the themes that emerged. The abstract and suggestive images on the cards help participants express thoughts and emotions that might be difficult to put into words.
Finally, the retrospective closed by gathering concrete actions or improvement ideas for the next Camp.

LinkedIn in the Company – Our Experience

Luca Cruciani led the session on how the Brand & Communication team manages LinkedIn, to align the company on their activities, share the results achieved, and foster a discussion on potential improvements for Intré’s LinkedIn communication.
LinkedIn is currently the premier social network for both individuals and companies:

    • Personal branding, a strategic process by which a person manages and promotes their professional image with the goal of being recognized, distinguished, and positively perceived as an expert in a specific field.
    • Employer branding, the set of corporate marketing strategies aimed at creating and promoting a positive image of the company—Intré, for example—as an employer. In short, it means making a company more attractive to talent.

What matters for a company wanting to be active on LinkedIn is to clearly define its goals, considering the types of content to publish and the audience to target. It is therefore essential to understand the data generated by each post, which is why Luca, together with the Brand & Communication team, created the first report for May. This document summarizes key data and offers insights for future improvements.
