Guilds: growing and sharing knowledge

Each week, we dedicate part of our time to working in Guilds—spontaneous groups of 4 to 8 people formed to learn and share knowledge. Every four months, new Guilds emerge based on topics freely proposed by participants.

2026 - Quarter 1

GIlda Toc Toc chi è?

Knock knock… Who’s there?

The Gilda was created to explore Identity Management, an increasingly central topic in the design of secure and integrated systems. Its goal was to understand the evolution of authentication and authorization mechanisms and gain practical tools for evaluating the most suitable solutions across different application contexts.

The journey included the analysis of modern security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML 2.0, as well as a comparison of widely used Identity Providers: Keycloak, WSO2, Shibboleth and Apereo CAS. The group also explored different authorization models, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC) and capability-based design.

The Gilda built a Docker Compose-based digital playground designed to experiment with the integration of Gateway, Identity Provider, Web App and API. This environment made it possible to put the analyzed protocols into practice and consolidate a shared foundation for designing identity management systems that are more secure, flexible and aligned with the needs of modern applications.

The PVE Squad!

The Gilda was created to evaluate Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) as a potential alternative to VMware vSphere, which is currently used within the company’s infrastructure. The goal was to develop the knowledge and skills needed to approach a possible future migration with greater confidence, focusing on installation, configuration, virtual machine management and backup strategies.

After completing two online training courses, the group turned theory into practice by setting up a production-like environment on an old server. They tested the day-to-day use of Proxmox, virtual machine migration from vSphere and backup management.

The project provided hands-on experience with PVE’s capabilities, strengths and limitations, even without access to a real production infrastructure. During the Gildonfiera, the Gilda showcased a live demonstration by migrating a virtual machine while a user continued playing Minecraft, without any interruption to the gaming experience.

Spec first, code later

The Guild was created to explore Specification-Driven Development (SDD), an approach that places the clear and shared definition of specifications before code implementation. The goal was to understand how this paradigm can reduce ambiguity, make team collaboration more consistent and guide the use of AI coding agents more consciously.

The group studied documentation, methodologies and tools dedicated to SDD, including Spec Kit, OpenSpec, BMad and SPPD. The activity focused on analyzing their features, possible workflows and ways to integrate them into the development process.

Participants experimented with different approaches across three projects, comparing tools and workflows in different application contexts. The journey consolidated their understanding of Specification-Driven Development and helped them gain a concrete view of its potential, limitations and conditions of use.

The lord of the agents – Group 1

The Gilda was created to explore agentic coding in a concrete way and understand its opportunities, limitations and adoption criteria in software projects. The goal was to experiment with tools and approaches for designing and coordinating AI agents, with particular attention to skill management, the context provided to models and token consumption.

Each meeting included an initial update moment called JournalAI, dedicated to sharing the latest developments gathered during the week. The Gilda then focused on practical activities: testing tools and Large Language Models, defining the operating context and experimenting with different ways of orchestrating agents.

The journey helped participants gain greater awareness in choosing the most suitable solutions for different scenarios: from managing existing codebases to creating small internal automations, all the way to coordinating multiple agents working on the same project.

The lord of the agents – Group 2

The Guild was created to explore a concrete and gradual use of AI agents in software development, going beyond simple automated code generation. The goal was to understand how to integrate them into workflows consciously, while maintaining control over design decisions, code quality and verification activities.

The journey explored every stage of the process: from defining the project context to planning, from implementation to review. The group also experimented with shared skills and workflows capable of integrating tests, external tools and automated checks.

The result was a structured approach to using AI agents: not tools to delegate to without supervision, but supports that make repetitive tasks more efficient, standardize certain practices and leave people in control of the most relevant aspects of development.

Guild Gymbro Vision

Gymbro vision

The Guild was created to explore how artificial intelligence can support people during physical activity by verifying the correct execution of exercises in real time and providing immediate corrective feedback.

The team worked on several aspects of the solution, including collaboration with a personal trainer, analysis of existing applications, UX/UI design, and experimentation with voice interaction and augmented reality. From a technical perspective, the group explored a pay-per-use cloud architecture and the use of MediaPipe for body movement recognition.

The project led to the definition of an initial prototype focused on delivering an effective, accessible and sustainable user experience. During the Gildonfiera, attendees had the opportunity to test the application firsthand by performing overhead squats while receiving real-time feedback on their posture.

Guild Insert Coin arcade cabinet

Insert Coin

The Guild was created with the goal of building something capable of making company spaces more engaging and enhancing Intré’s presence at conferences, events and occasions with a sponsor booth. The arcade cabinet is an interactive, recognizable and customizable tool designed to encourage moments of play, connection and entertainment.

The work involved the full design and construction of the cabinet: from assembling and wiring the components to hardware customization, including Intré-branded marquee and panels, all the way to software configuration. A Batocera theme consistent with the company’s visual identity was also developed, with the support of Artificial Intelligence.

As a result, the Guild produced a working and customizable arcade cabinet, ready to be used in the office spaces and during events, the first of which was the Intré Camp held on June 11, 2026.

All project phases were documented, and reusable CAD files were created to make it possible to replicate the cabinet, update it or develop new versions over time.
